Hoover High School will be performing "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" on Feb. 18-21. Three of our youth are involved in the production: Rebekah Price is an Ismaelite, Spencer Aldridge plays Potter and also plays one of Joseph's brothers, and K.C. McQuiston is on the technical crew. Ticket brochures are available on the lobby table.

The Penny Project

The Helping Hands ABW of Trinity is sponsoring the National Women's "Penny Project", to aid children living in poverty. The goal is to raise a penny to represent each of the estimated 14,000,000 children living in poverty in the U.S. and Puerto Rico by April 2010. The funds donated by Trinity will be used to aid 1,800 of those children who live in Stark County. There is a container in the lobby for your loose change to help reach their goal and to help reach out to a needy child.

Pastoral Search Team update

The Search Committee continues to meet every Monday night to work on the task of identifying candidates to potentially be called as Pastor to lead our congregation. They completed the 2009 Curch Profile, and bound copies are ready for distribution to candidates. They received two sets of candidate packages from Rev. Bob Cassady (ABC-Ohio Minister of Congregational Development Central/Northeast) that contained 36 profiles.  After reviewing the profiles individually and as a group, the Search Committee has selected 10 candidates to contact. Initial contact letters will be sent out the week of January 24.  Hopefully, we will receive interest in our vacancy allowing us to exchange profiles and information with the candidates.

Hope Community Church moving to a new home

Hope Community Church, who has been sharing our church facilities for the past two years, has gotten the opportunity to move into a building of their own. They will occupy the entire first floor of a building near the intersection of 7th Street and Main Street. They will be moving in during the last half of February. We hope to continue the relationship as we plan to partner for events with them throughout the year. We wish Pastor Gary and Monica Plauger and the entire Hope family the best and pray for success in their ministry as they start the next phase of their journey.

February 5-6 - Youth Evangelism Training Conference - "Dare to Share"

The Blaze evangelism training conference is coming to the Columbus Convention Center! Ignite Your Teens' Passion at the 2009 - 2010 Blaze Tour. Drawing from Isaiah 6:1-8, this conference will equip teenagers to encounter God in a powerful way. They will be transformed as they experience The Fire That Burns (God's Glory), The Fire That Destroys (God's Justice), The Fire That Purifies (God's Mercy), and The Fire That Rages (God's Love). We guarantee your teens will have an Isaiah-type experience they will never forget. For more information about attending, please see Kathy Frischkorn.

American Baptists Respond to Haiti Earthquake

Our ABC-USA missionaries are safe after the Haiti earthquake.  That seems to be the only good news in what has proven to be an utter tragedy.  Please pray and please donate now.  American Baptist  missionaries Steve and Nancy James  are working with the leaders of the Haiti Baptist Convention to distribute relief supplies and plan for additional responses.  Financial contributions are urgently needed for the purchase, transportation and distribution of more relief supplies, and for the recovery and rebuilding phases.  Medical teams are arriving from the Dominican Republic and the US in
