Meet the Pastoral Search Team

Say hello to the folks who will pull our Church’s story together and create the profile that will attract our next minister. The dedicated servants on this team have a combined 64 years of service to Trinity. Some have served in specific capacities others have helped in many general areas, but all are dedicated to bringing Trinity together with the person God desires for this church. Jeremy Probst: I have been at Trinity my entire life. I have been involved with the youth group and traveled to Montana on the mission trip in 2005. I have helped supervise the younger children and helped with VBS.

I am a sophomore at Hoover High where I have been on the honor roll all year. I am involved in the Navy Sea Cadet Corp (NSCC) which I expect will facilitate my entrance into the US Navy and hopefully through NROTC. I also enjoy running Cross Country.

I am employed at the Danbury as a server and dishwasher.

I feel led to be on the search committee because I have been in the church all of my life and I understand what the church has gone through…. I have a good idea of what the other youth members would like to see in a new youth leader and new pastor. After talking with many of the youth members, I know what kind of person that most everyone would be happy with.

Laura Cope: I have been an active member of Trinity for 12 years. I have been involved in a wide variety of opportunities here at Trinity: Coordinator for Vacation Bible School, member of the Public Worship Committee, Sunday School teacher, chaperone for the 2005 Youth Mission Trip to the Crow Indian reservation in Montana, and part of the Praise Team (vocalist).

I have been married to Steve for 27 years. We have two children: Joshua, 22, a senior at Wright State University in Dayton; and Stephanie, 19, a freshman at Alderson Broaddus College in Philippi, WV. I started and manage my own business, Clean Freaks Cleaning Service, and I am glad for the opportunity I have been given to be a nanny for the three Schwenk children.

I have never been involved in this process before, but I felt compelled to volunteer for the Search Committee to help seek God’s direction in identifying the person truly called by God to be Trinity’s next pastor.

Mike Eberly: I have attended TBC for over 16 years having served on the Maintenance Committee a few years ago and continue to assist with various building projects. I met my wife, Becki, over twenty years ago and we were married at Trinity Baptist Church (TBC) on July 10, 1993. Becki has been a member of TBC her entire life and she now serves as the Treasurer for the Church.

Becki and I have a daughter, Elizabeth, who is eight years old and attends second grade at Portage Collaborative Montessori School in North Canton. Both of our parents, Bob and Jan Pattison and Dave and Carol Eberle, live close to us and we are able to share our lives with them on a daily basis. I have three siblings, all older, Robert, Kathleen and Mark. We all grew up in Parma, Ohio and over the years moved to Brunswick and finally to the North Canton area where I graduated from Glen Oak High School.

Following my graduation from high school, I attended the University of Cincinnati and the University of Akron, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. I currently work as an Environmental Supervisor for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Division of Emergency and Remedial Response, located in the city of Twinsburg.

I have been involved in various community outreach efforts through my career, including the United Way, educational outreach with Stark State College and various talks to local high schools and public involvement groups. I have always been involved in sports and continue to play in the Roy Hobbs Baseball League in Akron but the injuries come quicker and heal slower.

I requested to join the Search Committee having felt a calling to become involved in the process and feeling a true interest in helping TBC find the person who is being lead to us as our new Pastor.

Kathie Frischkorn: I have been attending Trinity for around 20 years. I have taught kids on Wednesday nights, helped with Vacation Bible School, and taught adult Sunday School. I still sing with the Praise Band.

I have been married for coming up on 25 years with the same patient man. I have 2 children, Nathan and Katie. I don't cook much and you don't want me to.

Since I was on the previous search committee, I just thought I could bring a wee bit of experience to the search team. I feel very strongly about Trinity being God's church and seeking out what His mission is for us.

Trinity’s Leadership Team asks you to support these dedicated individuals through your prayers and assisting them as needed. They will move toward discovery our church’s profile with the assistance of all the congregation… be prepared to think back into the future.
