Leader Expectations

  • Testify to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Serve Jesus Christ, and do your best to lead Trinity and equip it with resources to fulfill our mission of “Leading People to a Moment of Truth with Christ.”
  • Be passionate about “seeking and saving” those who do not know Jesus.
  • Practice daily devotions and prayer: To pray for the Church, for those who do not know Jesus, families, and other leaders in the Church.
  • Support and encourage each other, and hold each other accountable.
  • Regularly and faithfully study the Word of God.
  • Grow spiritually through participating in educational classes.
  • Tithe faithfully; practice generous financial giving and investment of time and talents.
  • Be a person of passion and enthusiasm about building relationships.
  • Possess good character and wisdom to manage the practical and physical affairs of the Lord’s people, using common sense and good judgment in carrying out their assigned tasks.
  • Be leaders who are not afraid to lead by example.
  • Be a risk taker for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attend Worship.
  • Talk to others about your faith and be inviting.
  • Be confidential where confidentiality is required.
  • Be passionate about Trinity’s success.

Common Leader Responsibilities

  • Be the Pastor’s hands and eyes, and represent him throughout the congregation.
  • Manage practical details and small issues to free-up the Pastor for prayer and the ministry of the Word - preaching and teaching and spreading the Word, protecting and feeding the flock (congregation, members, regular attendees, etc.).
  • Hold Pastor accountable for preaching, teaching, training and equipping, and for accomplishing yearly goals (including mission and vision of the Church).
  • Support Pastor to achieve success of goals.
  • Support and help Trinity execute its vision.
  • Communicate the vision freely and often with the congregation and community.
  • Promote and adhere to Trinity’s Core Values.
  • Support the direction and efforts of the Leadership Team.
  • Build a positive sense of community by encouraging others.
  • Be greeters of the Church.
  • Attend seminars on leadership and ministries as budget permits.
  • Help develop the annual budget. Manage budget for specific Team responsibility.
  • Personally recruit and develop qualified team for each event/activity/responsibility, working closely with the Ministry Team to utilize people’s gifts and talents.
  • Mentor and reward team members, and reproduce yourselves. 

Boundaries:

  • Accept and defend Leadership Team decisions reached by consensus.
  • Hold your team accountable.
  • Cannot overspend budget unless approved by majority of Leadership Team. (If there is a need for extra funds, Team Leader approaches Pastor. Pastor and Team Leader then inform Leadership Team of justification for requested expense. Vote can be taken by email if need be.)
  • Accountable to Pastor as unpaid staff.
